The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them review

Posted : 9 years, 9 months ago on 8 July 2015 02:59 (A review of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Them)

If you have seen both prequels ("Him" and "Her") and if you're expecting a different point of view in "Them" don't watch this one. It only blends both versions together.

Dead Alive review

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 19 August 2014 11:21 (A review of Dead Alive)

It's a relatively funny movie, but you ought to have the stomach for gross scenes. I had to close my eyes for some of them and couldn't take the grand finale.

A ilha: Um reporter brasileiro no pais de Fidel Castro review

Posted : 11 years ago on 7 April 2014 10:10 (A review of A ilha: Um reporter brasileiro no pais de Fidel Castro)

Interessante ler sobre os relatos de dois diferentes momentos em que uma mesma pessoa esteve em Cuba. Resumiria em: deslumbramento e desilusão.

The Master review

Posted : 12 years ago on 19 March 2013 09:44 (A review of The Master)

Great performances from Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
I found interesting the relationship of mutual need. On one hand, someone who needs help to think and act with clarity. On the other, someone who believes that can help and heal.

Happy-Go-Silly

Posted : 15 years, 4 months ago on 24 November 2009 01:16 (A review of Happy-Go-Lucky)

The character is very silly and the movie doesn't give the happy-lesson you expect from the trailer.
Some scenes are funny though.

Umberto D. (1952) review

Posted : 15 years, 4 months ago on 10 November 2009 04:05 (A review of Umberto D. (1952))

My grandpa had a dog named Flike and I recently discovered that it was in homage to the movie. Some scenes sure moved me to tears.

Filipa à la plage

Me lembrou a atmosfera do filme "Pauline à la plage", do diretor Eric Rohmer.

Parts

Posted : 15 years, 8 months ago on 26 July 2009 09:20 (A review of 1984)

I missed something from the book, but I really can't say what. The actors were splendid though, John Hurt and Suzanna Hamilton are just perfect in the parts of W.Smith and Julia. It's also great to see the same atmosphere imagined from the book in a big screen. Well, in my case, not big since I watched at home.

The End

Posted : 16 years, 8 months ago on 1 August 2008 05:09 (A review of Era Uma Vez...)

Nice acting and subject, the ending though was too fake. Didn't get the behavior from the characters, it just seemed unreal to act the way they did.

Microphones on scenes

Posted : 16 years, 10 months ago on 14 May 2008 02:28 (A review of Cassandra's Dream)

Great story but how didn't anyone worried about the microphones appearing on scenes? I was very disappointed about that. Intolerable for a Woody's pic.
